CNQ REBOOT WARRIOR RANKINGS / LEADERBOARDS
LAST UPDATED: 31st July 2011
Here are the (obviously unofficial) warrior rankings/leaderboard for CNQ Reboot. Please note: this leaderboard is a somewhat subjective view of the strengths and weaknesses of the warriors currently playing the game. While we have gone to lengths to avoid personal biases, such as the influence of friendships, this list is ultimately our own opinion and not to be taken too seriously. We will update this table every week. Because this is a first version, it is quite possible that we have overlooked someone who needs to be on this list. Please suggest names below.
Due to name changes I am unaware of it is quite possible that someone might end up on the list twice. Please help me correct any errors. Feel free to post results of games or warrior 1v1s below (including mandatory screenshot) if you feel they are relevant to the rankings. Rankings are decided on our personal experience of playing against people, their scores in games and in duels and their overall team play. Obviously this is a flawed system, and we understand if people think it's "arrogant" of us to rate players in this way or comment on their weaknesses, but the intent of this table is to have some fun and not to create arguments. Hopefully it might add some more competition to the game. If you'd like your name to be taken off the list, just let me know.
The table is split into tiers. Warriors may be promoted or relegated based on their performance. Finishing bottom in tier II three weeks in a row gets you relegated to tier III. Finishing at the top of tier III three weeks in a row gets you promoted. Other promotions/relegations are more selective.
NOTE: If you would like a picture/avatar to go by your name please let me know the image either by posting it below or sending me a PM on the main lotrconquest forum here.
Thanks for reading!
Tier I
A tier I warrior will dominate against all other classes, often even if outnumbered, and can turn the course of any game he enters. He will be unbeatable by any lower tier warriors and lead the game in terms of technique, tactical awareness, combo selection and accuracy. On friendly maps a tier I warrior will even be capable of topping the scoring over mage and archer players. Tier I warriors will have an unsurpassed ability at base capturing and will often have developed their own game changing combos and strategies. In full flow, a tier I warrior wreaking havoc on his opposition is perhaps the most beautiful sight in the game. These guys have perfected the glamour class of LOTR Conquest.
1 - Istari / Divine (Empire) 1 TIME CHAMPION - 3 BOARDS AT TOP
Istari's warrior is formidable. Able to throw axes with unbelievable almost inhuman accuracy while taking no time throwing them, even from extreme long range, Istari can inflict massive critical missile damage on opponents. At close range his swordsmanship is fearsome and his movement patterns in TDM and Conquest modes are highly original and developed. Outstanding in a 1v1 environment.
Weaknesses: None / Sometimes misses quick get ups/dodges.
2 - Ronjons (BLINCO/PSX))
Ronjons is the most knowledgeable warrior to play the game of Lotr. An outstanding duellist with brilliant strategy in Conquest mode, he is also a superb ring carrier. Leading his army of Blind Commandos, Ronjons' evasive movement patterns against archers are the best in the game and his effectiveness against non-melee classes is legendary. He will often lead his team in scoring on Weathertop and Helm's Deep TDM. If hero warriors were included in this ranking, Ronjons would top this list by a wide margin.
Weaknesses: Sometimes his BLINCO ethos gets in the way of what be might considered more "effective" playing, but upholding the organisation's heroic code of near suicidal melee play rightly trumps any such concerns.
3 - Morgoth (Empire)
A perfect warrior. Morgoth is an elite melee fighter capable of slaughtering all other classes. His base capturing technique is perhaps the best in the game, while his axe is legendary for its accuracy. Tactically flawless, Morgoth can carry his team in both Conquest and CTR modes. He can play every style if needed, making his combo strategy very unpredictable. His blocking and dodging is top notch, while he possesses the most effective crowdbreaker in the game, which he implements into his duelling strategy with devastating effect.
Weaknesses: None. Sometimes slowed down by connection.
4 - Will / Turin / Beren (BLINCO/PSX))
The recent winner of his own warrior tournament, Will is right at the top of the warrior game. The best ring bearer and troll slayer in the game. he is devastating against all classes and particularly effective against mages and archers. His blocking/evasion strategy against mage lightning is genius and his general movement strategies are highly developed. Another excellent tier I warrior.
Weaknesses: While his axe accuracy is generally devastating he can occasionally go cold in this area causing him to be slightly less effective.
5 - Gothmog (TLF)
Perhaps the most famous PC warrior of all, Gothmog's experience shines through in all he does. Developer of his own "chaos" technique, Gothmog knows every single trick in the warrior game, rivalling even Ronjons' knowledge of the class. A simply awesome opponent in all modes of play, Gothmog excels at CTR and Conquest modes. His warrior is fearless and his play style aggressive and brave. While either connection issues or lack of play time perhaps hold him back from his former peak, Gothmog stands tall with the very best in the game as a tier one legend.
Tier II
A tier II warrior will be a tremendous asset to any team he joins. He will contribute positive or near positive scores against teams including even top archers and mages, and will routinely lead his team in base and ring captures. Tactically a tier II warrior will stand out, often lowering mage shields for his team or rescuing his colleagues from certain death. While they are excellent duelling players, these guys are also the engine room of any successful clan war side and play crucial team roles in every battle. The relative scarcity of these players makes them more valuable than all but the very best players of the ranged classes.
1- Angelus (PSX) UP 1 & PROMOTION CANDIDATE
A very underrated warrior, Angelus is superb against archers and mages and a growing threat in the duelling game, winning KingLuis' warrior tournament. His unorthodox and surprising use of light special often catches opponents off guard and he has a superb axe-tag defensive game. Impressive victories over Morgoth and Lhii but also a loss and a win against Taco see Ang move closer to tier I. Another victory over a tier I warrior will prove decisive!
Weaknesses: Few
2 - Lhii (TacTic) DOWN 1
Lhii is the most effective anti-archer warrior in the game, surpassing even Ronjons with his axe accuracy in this department. Relatively new to the class, it's amazing how quickly Lhii has developed. Falls a place this week after a hard fought loss to Angelus.
Weaknesses: Few. Lack of experience means he is occasionally defeated by tier I warriors in duelling situations.
3- Radai (KOTT) NEW ENTRY
A PC player from the EA days, Radai has retuned to stalk the planes of Middle Earth with Morgoth at his side. An extremely aggressive, offensive warrior, Radai specialises in countering non-melee classes, where his axes accuracy against archers is particularly deadly.
Weakness: Sometimes TOO offenisve while fighting duels, letting experienced players shut him down.
Weaknesses: Few
4- Chub Chub Nina (PSX) NEW ENTRY
Chub is underrated beast with warrior, being extremely adept against the archer and mage classes and also packing quite a punch in 2v2 duels. An impressive outing in a defeat to Morgoth leave no doubt that Chub could ascend higher on these boards.
Weaknesses: Lacks experience of tier I warriors and is sometimes hurt by lag.
5- Fingon NEW ENTRY
Recently returning from a prolonged absence, Fingon has lost little of his old warrior skill
Weaknesses: Haven't seen enough to judge.
6 - Xantore (BLOD) DOWN 3
Perhaps the most accurate warrior in the game.Strong killing capacity and tactical awareness.
Weaknesses: Sometimes a little predictable.
7 - Rikimaru (Tactic) DOWN 3
An excellent swordsman who excels in close spaces with some devastating finishing combos. A great team warrior, playing strongly in all modes. Capable of rising even higher on this list.
Weaknesses: axe accuracy is sometimes intermittent.
8 - Thenwood DOWN 1
Recently returned to the game after a long absence, Thenwood is proving to be a melee beast! Excellent in the 8v8 game, a strong support player and Conquest expert. Thenwood stands up well against all classes and may well be set to rise even higher up this board!
Weaknesses: Not seen enough to comment.
9 - Taco (Tactic)
A strong warrior with the potential to be much higher on this list. He is a developed duelling warrior with a crisp execution of combos.
Weaknesses: A little too predictable with combo selection. While his duelling warrior is tactically astute, he is perhaps less effective in the 8v8 game.
10 - Merlin PROMOTED!
A defensive warrior which makes him a lethal enemy. He may not be as good a swordsman as most tier II warriors but he can overcome this with patience, carefully waiting for the best opportunity to strike. Merlin will be promoted next update if he remains top of tier III.
Weaknesses: Due to his lack of play time with the class it may be that tier II warriors are a better choice when fighting gets messy in close spaces.
Tier III
Tier III warriors will stand out as skilled purveyors of the melee class. They will have a developed and proficient grasp of warrior combos and be capable of positive or even k/d ratios in most games. Highly skilled players, these guys will also have a firm grasp of defensive strategies against the other classes.
1 - Paladin / Aerial (Empire) UP 1 AND PROMOTION CANDIDATE
An underrated player, Paladin's gamestyle is built on random running and great axe throwing. One of the best axe users in game, he surprises enemies by comboing at random times, often catching his enemies off guard. Rises a place after an impressive victory over Humpla.
Weakness: Sometimes runs too randomly and can be easly taken by axe. Dodging skills also need to be improved.
2 - Firaaz / Darklion (Empire) UP 1
In the words of one top warrior player, Firaaz is "the most annoying player" in the history of the game, mostly due to his incredibly unorthodox melee style that can catch even the best player off guard.
Weaknesses: Less successful dodging skill and axe accuracy.
3 - Humpla (Empire) DOWN 6
A very good warrior player with a huge knowledge of the class, Humpla has a very offensive style of gameplay that can surprise enemies. He specialises in duels and is also a strong CTR player.
Weaknesses: Less effective in the 8v8 game, Humpla can also become predictable after a long duel.
4 - FrodoSam (TacTic) UP 2
Primarily known for his scout class, and his developing archer, FrodoSam is nevertheless quite a warrior. Strong in the team game, he has good movement patterns and tactical awareness.
Weaknesses: Lacks duelling experience and killing capacity of higher placed warriors
5 - Norq (TacTic) DOWN 1
Although he prefers to play scout, when Norq does bring out his warrior it bleeds quality. Very proficient at blocking, his warrior is a reliable asset to any team and it is rare to see him make a mistake.
Weaknesses: Lack of playing time means he lacks a little in experience compared to tier II fighters.
6 - Yoramir (BLOD) DOWN 1
A runner. Very accurate axe attacks and proficient team play make Yoramir a skilled and valuable asset to any team.
Weaknesses: Somewhat predictable.
7 - Haradwaith (EQ) NEW ENTRY
A promising new entry and committed player of the class. Recently gained experience fighting a tier 1 warrior with a loss to Morgoth. Haradwaith is a good team warrior and is developing fast. Has every chance to further improve and climb higher on this table!
Weaknesses: Lacks against top players in the 1v1 environment.
8- Hurin (eq) UP 1
A solid, skilled and dependable warrior. The kind of player you look for when assembling a strong melee foundation. Does a lot of underrated work for his team. Lots of potential.
Weaknesses: Lacks killing capacity and combo knowledge of higher placed warriors.
9 - Gwindor DOWN 2
A very solid team warrior, proficient with both axe throwing and combo selection. Expect this guy to rise up the tables fast.
Weaknesses: Lacks the killing capacity of higher tiered warriors.
10 - KingLuis (PSX) DOWN 2
An underrated duelling warrior who recently scored an impressive victory against Gwindor in a short match.
Weaknesses: Need to see more from Kingluis in the 8v8 game if he is to climb up the table.
11 - Mayhem (TacTic)
Nub dodge. Nub axe. Nub everything.
Weaknesses: Lots.
12 - Laiebi (PSX) DOWN 2
Similarly to Hurin, Laiebi is an easy warrior pick if you are looking to build a strong team foundation. Skilled in many aspects of the class.
Weaknesses: Lacks killing capacity and proficiency of higher placed warriors.
People we need to see more from before assigning them a position
Elf - Possibly unsurpassed killing capacity but may be hurt by Tunngle connection.
Sacramento (EQ)
MIA / Retired (People who have not played for at least six months, prompting their withdrawal from the tier system)
bm
Swami Chuckles
Constantly overlooked as a warrior due to his top mage class, Swami Chuckles quietly proves himself a tier one warrior every time he plays the class. His duelling technique is immensely effective and his axe and combo work criminally underrated. A serious opponent, no matter your ability, Swami often scores kills on players unsuspecting of his melee talent.
Weaknesses: Few.
Oneshot (Tactic)
An original Xbox multiclass specialist, oneshot's warrior still packs quite a punch on PC. Can come at you with any style, possessing developed movement and anti-archer strategies.
Weaknesses: Hurt by West Coast connection.
Onde Aander (PSX)
A fearless and aggressive warrior enthusiast, Onde plays with a suicidal advocacy of the Blinco sidestep (i.e.: running straight at her opponents). A fierce opponent in any duel, her effectiveness against archers and mage classes is legendary.
Weaknesses: sometimes her aggression can leave her open to becoming isolated and falling prey to ganging.
