CNQ REBOOT SCOUT RANKINGS / LEADERBOARDS
[glow=red,2,300]LAST UPDATED: 8th July 2011[/glow]
Here are the (obviously unofficial) scout rankings/leaderboard for the week of June 19th, 2011 (yes, they are a little late). Please note: this leaderboard is a somewhat subjective view of the strengths and weaknesses of the scouts currently playing the game. While we have gone to lengths to avoid personal biases, such as the influence of friendships, this list is based on the opinions of several scout players. It's not to be taken too seriously. I will update this table every week. Because this is a first version, it is quite possible that we have overlooked someone who needs to be on this list. Please suggest names below.
It's quite possible that due to name changes I am unaware of, someone might end up on the list twice. Please help me correct any errors. Feel free to post results of games or scout 1v1s below (including mandatory screenshot) if you feel they are relevant to the rankings. Rankings are decided on personal experiences of playing against/with people, their scores in games and in duels and their overall team play. Obviously this is a flawed system, and I understand if people think it's "arrogant" of us to rate players in this way or comment on their weaknesses, but the intent of this table is to have some fun and not to create arguments. Hopefully it might add some more competition to the game. If you'd like your name to be taken off the list, just let me know.
The table is split into tiers. Scouts may be promoted or relegated based on their performance.
NOTE: If you would like a picture/avatar to go by your name please let me know the image either by posting it below or sending me a PM on the main lotrconquest forum here.
Thanks for reading!
Tier I
A tier I scout will dominate against any opposition and can single-handedly turn the course of any game he enters. He will be unbeatable by any lower tier scouts and lead the game in terms of technique and tactical awareness. Tier I scouts are capable of leading their team in scoring even when it contains top archers and mages. A tier I scout will lead their team in Conquest mode, displaying perfect tactical awareness of capture orders. A rare breed of player indeed.
1 - Angelus / Raiden (PSX) UP 1 & NEW CHAMPION!
For large parts of last year, Angelus was hands down the best scout in the game, routinely topping games with flawless scores. Famously defeated oneshot on Osgiliath bridge, announcing his arrival with the scout class. Continues strong tradition of Ps3 scouting. The only scout that rivals Istari's killing capacity in game. Superb melee and backstabbing skills. Best scout movement patterns in game. Brilliant in Conquest mode.
Weaknesses: None.
2 - Istari / Divine (Empire) DOWN 1 (FORMER 1 TIME CHAMPION WITH 1 BOARD AT TOP)
Flawless backstab technique, perfect satchel bomb aim and ferocious melee abilities make Istari the dominant scout in the game. Excellent use of cloak ensures he can usually find a mage for healing, thus extending his massive killing capacity. Unsurpassed tactical knowledge of the class. A 1v1 with Angelus may see him regain the top spot!
Weaknesses: None.
3 - Oneshot (TacTic)
Unbelievable melee scout who can defeat even top warriors without using backstabs. Incredible backstab timing (probably the most proficient in the game), allowing him to routinely backstab even sprinting and jumping targets. Excellent at Conquest mode.
Weaknesses: None. Lag from west coast US hurts satchel bomb accuracy and backstab positioning.
Tier II
A tier II scout will dominate games without the presence of top archers and in such games will always lead their team in kills. Where top archers and mages are present, a tier II scout will always achieve a positive k/d ratio. He will cause problems for all he faces and will get some good kills on even top players. In Conquest mode a tier II scout can be relied upon to make the crucial capture, or delay the opposition with some well considered harassment.
1 - Ronjons (Blinco/PSX)
Ronjons does Blinco proud as the premier anti-camping weapon in the game. Excellent with both hero and normal scouts, Ronjons can hang with even oneshot in the melee department. A specialist with Frodo, for whom he discovered and pioneered a limitless melee combo. Excellent movement and cloaking knowledge. As the very best anti-archer scout in the game, Ronjons has developed routes even to the back of Pelennor fields where he routinely scores melee kills on unsuspecting victims.
Weaknesses: Could easily be higher on this list but refuses to use backstabs. I'm quite sure he wouldn't have it any other way.
2 - FrodoSam (Tactic)
Excellent backstab movement, satchel bomb accuracy and finishing combos. FrodoSam has a real tactical awareness in Conquest mode where he will often break off to capture a distant base, keeping his team in the game. Very high killing capacity, often scoring three kills for each life.
Weaknesses: Less effective against archers.
3 - Darklion/ Firaaz (Empire)
It takes a rare quality of scout to get a place in Empire's starting lineup, and darklion is just that. Immense kiling capacity and backstab technique.
Weaknesses: Not seen enough to judge.
4 - Taco (TacTic)
An excellent scout player. Get's high k/d ratios for fun and is a fearless duelling scout.
Weaknesses: Has lost some but not much of his touch from not playing scout for a long period of time.
5 - KingLuis (PSX)
Great at making backstabs on unsuspecting opponents. Can go solo and take out enemies without help. Possibly the most accurate satchel bomb in the game.
Weaknesses: Sometimes knocks people down and goes for melee while other enemies are around, leaving himself exposed. Average killing capacity.
6 - Merlin (PSX)
Sometimes overlooked because of his excellent mage class, Merlin has great technique with the scout. One of the bext Conquest brains to play the game, Merlin always makes the correct decision about base capturing. He can rack up kills on unsuspecting enemies with great backstab timing. Good melee technique.
Weaknesses: Sometimes impatient, leading to a few mistakes
7 - Norq (Tactic)
An excellent team scout with an impressive array of melee skills. Very good positional scout with strong tactical awareness both in team deathmatch and Conquest modes.
Weaknesses: Less effective against top archers, leading to slightly reduced killing capacity.
8 - Equester (TLF) UP 1
Also primarly known as an archer, Equester possesses a good backstab scout with solid movement and positioning.
Weaknesses: Haven't seen enough to judge. Possibly less developed melee.
9 - JohnIsGeorge (PSX) UP 1
A fantastic backstabbing and positional scout with excellent team skills and high killing capacity. John could certainly be higher on this list were it not for the fact that he is held back from lag from his Australian connection.
Weaknesses: Rarely uses scout specials. Less effective against archers. Suffers from lag.
10 - Dumbledore DOWN 2
Primarily known as an archer, Dumbledore complements his main class with an excellent backstab scout, boasting a strong killing capacity.
Weaknesses: Less effective against archers. Possibly less developed melee skills than scouts ranked above him.
11 - Lhii (Tactic) NEW ENTRY
An underrated scout player, Lhii is skilled with the class even if he does not take it out regularly. A strong melee scout, particularly against warriors. Has the potential to climb these boards quickly.
Weaknesses: Lacks experience of the higher placed players.
12 - Laiebi (PSX)
A good scout with a strong killing capacity. Mainly plays the class as a backstab weapon, where he excels, but lacks slightly in the melee department. An excellent positional scout capable of harrassing with repeat killings. Targets archers.
Weaknesses: Less proficient at scout melee.
13 - Panos 7 / Uzumaki DOWN 2
An underrated player. Has great aerial attacks and strong backstabbing ability from his good positioning.
Weaknesses: Sometimes misses quick get-ups.
14 - Knoche (eq) DOWN 1
A decent scout with good melee and backstabbing abilities. Is more effective if teammates are present.
Weaknesses: Less accurate with satchel bombs in pressure situations
15 - Fat Cat Fan NEW ENTRY
A strong back stabbing scout, Fat Cat Fan annoys both archers and mages with his well timed attacks.
Weaknesses: Less developed melee abilities.
16 - Rikimaru (TacTic) NEW ENTRY
While he rarely uses the class, Rikimaru is a skilled backstabbing scout with a good tactical awareness of the game.
Weaknesses: Lacks experience and killing capacity of higher placed scouts.
17 - Paladin / Aerial (Empire) DOWN 3
Primarily known as an archer, Paladin's scout has strong aerial attacks.
Weaknesses: Sometimes misses with satchel bombs.
18 - Gilraen (PSX) NEW ENTRY
Gilraen recently began to work on her scout and has a lot of potential with the class, already scoring some nice backstabs.
Weaknesses: Lacks experience of higher placed players.
People we need to see more from before assigning them a position:
Elf, Morgoth (Empire) - Strong Frodo player but need to see more
MIA / Retired (People who have not played for at least six months, prompting their withdrawal from the tier system)
