CNQ REBOOT ARCHER RANKINGS / LEADERBOARDS
LAST UPDATED: 11th July 2011
Here are the (obviously unofficial) archer rankings/leaderboard for the week of June 26th, 2011. Please note: this leaderboard is a somewhat subjective view of the strengths and weaknesses of the archers currently playing the game. While we have gone to lengths to avoid personal biases, such as the influence of friendships, this list is ultimately our own opinion and not to be taken too seriously. We will update this table every week. If you think someone deserves to be on this list, please suggest names below.
It's quite possible that due to name changes I am unaware of, someone might end up on the list twice. Please help me correct any errors. Feel free to post results of games or archer 1v1s below (including mandatory screenshot) if you feel they are relevant to the rankings. Rankings are decided on our personal experience of playing against people, their scores in games and in duels and their overall team play. Obviously this is a flawed system, and I understand if people think it's "arrogant" of us to rate players in this way or comment on their weaknesses, but the intent of this table is to have some fun and not to create arguments. Hopefully it might add some more competition to the game. If you'd like your name to be taken off the list, just let me know.
The table is split into tiers. Archers may be promoted or relegated based on their performance. Finishing bottom in tier III three weeks in a row gets you relegated to tier IV. Finishing at the top of tier IV three weeks in a row gets you promoted. Other promotions/relegations are more selective.
NOTE: If you would like a picture/avatar to go by your name please let me know the image either by posting it below or sending me a PM on the main lotrconquest forum here.
Thanks for reading!
Tier I
A tier I archer will dominate against any opposition, even if severely outnumbered, and can single-handedly turn the course of any game he enters. He will be unbeatable by any lower tier archers and lead the game in terms of technique, tactical awareness and accuracy. Tier I archers are capable of dominating even tier II archers. Simply formidable.
1 - Istari (EmpireDivine) 1 TIME CHAMPION; 4 BOARDS AT THE TOP
Almost unbelievable longshot accuracy. Makes you wonder if he is human. Excellent close range movement, genius terrain usage and speed. Unsurpassed accuracy when emerging from behind cover. Undefeated in 1v1s. Unmatched killing capacity in games. Phenomenal in every sense.
Weaknesses: None / Sometimes fails to get up quickly.
2 - Taco (Tactic) PROMOTED & UP 1
Immeasurably improved archer of late with an incredible longshot accuracy. Immense killing capacity against all classes. Has added shotgun spreadshot to his arsenal.
Weaknesses: Slightly less dominant in straight shot duels.
Tier II
A tier II archer will dominate games without the presence of a tier I archer and in such games will always lead their team in kills. Stepping out in the open against a tier II archer is never a good move, as you'll quickly notice their increased longshot accuracy over against a tier III. Tier II archers are capable of dominating even the best tier III archers. Basically, if these guys show up it's bad news.
1 - Angelus (PSX) UP 1
One of the very most accurate longshots in game. Devilish to dislodge from high ground or stairways. Incredible killing capacity and game awareness. One of the cleverest archers to play the game. Down one place as he learns straight shot duelling.
Weaknesses: Few. Still learning straight shot 1v1 duelling.
2 - Paladin / Aerial (Empire) NEW ENTRY
An incredible archer, comparable to his brother, Istari. Paladin has an unbelievable long shot and almost never makes a mistake at close range. Great use of terrain and positioning make him one of the very best to ever play this game.
Weaknesses: Few.
Tier III
Tier III archers will stand out above the crowd as elite archers. Capable of routinely topping their team in scoring, these are all game winning archers and an asset to any clan. They possess notably increased shot accuracy and close range ability when compared to tier IV archers and will have stronger terrain skills. On a good day a tier III archer will score some good kills on a tier II archer.
1 - Dumbledore PROMOTION CANDIDATE
Incredibly strong killing capacity, long shot accuracy and close range game. Aggressive positional archer.
Weakness: Few. Occasionally too aggressive, leaving himself open to camping.
2 - Firaaz (Empire)
An immense killing capacity and super long range accuracy place Firaaz at the top end of tier II, this week JUST losing his promotion spot to Dumbledore..
Weaknesses: Few.
3 - Frei (BLOD)
Extremely accurate longshot archer. Excellent sniping ability.
Weaknesses: Possibly less strong close range game. Not seen enough to comment fully.
4 - Equester (TLF)
A veteran archer, perhaps slightly rusty due to his time away from the game, Equester is still capable of packing quite a punch, inlcuding one of the highest killing capacities in the game. Easily capable of ascending much higher! Watch this space!
Weaknesses: Few. Time away from the game perhaps makes his accuracy a little less than it was.
5 - Killashot
Excellent archer. Strong terrain usage, accurate longshot and good close range game.
Weaknesses: Few. Lacks killing capacity of tier II archers.
6 - Lhii (Tactic)
Much improved archer. Recently developed new aiming strategy. Strong terrain usage and long range game. Impressive victory over Angelus in the 1v1 straight shoot game.
Weaknesses: Very few. Lacks experience in the 8v8 game, where he has an untested killing capacity.
7 - KingLuis (PSX) UP 20
Incredibly underrated player. Extremely strong longshot and close range shotgun game. 1v1 specialist. Would beat most in an all map duel.
Weaknesses: Lack of game experience means his movement is not always great, lowering his killing capacity in the 8v8 mode.
8 - Demonlord (TacTic) DOWN 1
A new arrival to the game, Demonlord has certainly made his mark, boasting an extreme killing capacity and long shot accuracy. Incredible to think he has only been playing the game a short time.
Weaknesses: Less able against mages in a 1v1 environment.
9 - Lobelia (WBA) DOWN 1
Incredibly underrated archer. Excellent long shot accuracy and short range straight critical ability.
Weaknesses: Close range shotgun game slightly lacking but compensated for by straight shots.
10 - Mayhem (TacTic) DOWN 1
Support archer. Sticks close with team or stays in the back. Makes frequent captures in Conquest games and is always near the ringbearer in CTR games. Notorious for shotguns, but also has a very accurate long shot.
Weaknesses: Sometimes longshots decrease in accuracy. Occasionally takes large risks in combat situations.
11 - Nimloth (eq) DOWN 1
Complete archer. Strong long range and close range game. Premier archer for eq clan. Standup shooter that doesn't fear to stand in the open against anyone.
Weaknesses: Few. Lacks insane killing capacity of tier I and II archers
12 – Fingon (NWOM) DOWN 1
The strongest archer from the old NWOM clan. Excellent longshot game and positional play.
Weaknesses: Possibly less proficient at close range.
13 - Chub Chub Ninja (PSX) UP 2
Elite Xbox archer. Recently returned to the game after a prolonged absence. Strong long range and close range game. Good shotgun tactics. May be hurt by lag on connection but improving his performance allt he time
Weaknesses: Few. Learning to cope well with connection issues.
14 - Merlin (PSX) UP1
Given his status as perhaps the leading mage in the game, Merlin's archer is often overlooked but nevertheless stands as one of the very best. Immensely accurate longshot and strong close range game
Weaknesses: Few. Simple lack of positional experience with archer on some maps.
15 - Freshdy (LOTRO) DOWN 2
Very underrated archer and the strongest archer in the LOTRO clan. Very accurate longshot and large killing capacity.
Weaknesses: Few. Terrain usage might sometimes be stronger.
16 - Elf (Prometheus) DOWN 2
Very strong long range game. Not seen enough to judge close range.
Weaknesses: Not seen enough to judge.
17 - Panos 7 / Uzumaki DOWN 1
A quiet by very proficient archer, Panos 7 has high long accuracy. An underrated player
Weaknesses: Close range game perhaps lacking a little.
18 - Morgoth (Empire) DOWN 1
Given the top ability of his warrior, it's sometimes easy to forget the fact that Morgoth is also one of the best and most accurate archers in the game. Not seen enough to judge close range game.
Weaknesses: Not seen enough to judge.
19 - Gothmog (TLF) DOWN 1
Likewise with Morgoth, Gothmog's archer is an underrated beast. Extremely accurate at range.
Weaknesses: Not seen enough to judge
.
20 - Chris88 (eq) DOWN 1
Very strong long range game. Good awareness of mage positions.
Weaknesses: Perhaps lacks the positional knowledge and close range game the better tier III archers.
21 - Oneshot (Tactic) DOWN 1
As with Chub Chub. Strong Xbox archer possibly hurt by lag from west coast. Strong longshot and close range game.
Weaknesses: Few but not the force he was on Xbox.
22 - Sessou / Zsolna (Empire) PROMOTED & UP 2
An immensely improved archer since his NWOM days, Zsolna has been promoted to tier III. A strong long shot makes him a dangerous foe.
Weaknesses: Perhaps lacks killing capacity of tier I and II archers.
23 - Darkpally1 (PSX) DOWN 2
Elite Xbox archer. Recently returned to the game after a prolonged absence. Strong long range and close range game. Good shotgun tactics. May be hurt by lag on connection.
Weaknesses: Few. Long range game not what it was on Xbox.
Tier IV
A tier IV archer is a very good archer and will achieve a strong positive k/d ratio in almost every game. Capable of occasionally topping the scoring for their team, these guys are strong players, perhaps with a chief proficiency in another class.
1 - Rikimaru (Tactic) UP 1 AND PROMOTION CANDIDATE
Underrated archer. Chiefly known as a warrior. Has good, straight-up shot. Riki is improving all the time and seems to have developed a love for the class
Weaknesses: Lacks close range game and accuracy of a tier III archer.
2 - FrodoSam (TacTic) UP 1
Recently learned shotgun tactics. Decent long range accuracy. Gaining experience daily. A massive improved archer thanks to his training with TacTic clan
Weaknesses: Lack of experience with recently learned new tactics
3 - Yaddle UP 2
Underrated player. Strong longshot and positional play.
Weaknesses: Close range game.
4 - Gwindor.pl UP 2
Strong killing capacity leads to occasional top scores. Considerably stronger than a regular archer.
Weaknesses: Lacks close range game and extreme long range accuracy.
5 – Uri Sansa (PSX) UP 2
A solid and accurate archer, Uri has a superb team game and is developing his skills every time he plays. Has huge potential.
Weaknesses: Lacks close range game and killing capacity of higher tiered archers.
6 – ArO DOWN 2 UP 2
Straight up decent archer. Good shot accuracy.
Weaknesses: Lacks close range game and shot accuracy, while good, is well short of tier III standard.
7 - Stephan (LOTRO) UP 2
Decent medium and long range archer.
Weaknesses: Close range game. Positional game.
People I need to see more from before assigning them a position:
Legolas/Amaced/Aequitas/RadagastTheBrown (I am unsure if all of these accounts belong to the same person. Because of this confusion, and the frequent name changes, it is very difficult to place amaced on the leaderboard, though he clearly deservers a place in tier III). Joppi J (TM7), Arkalfor (BLOD), Empire Zarroc, Durin
MIA / Retired (People who have not played for at least six months, prompting their withdrawal from the tier system)
TLF-Bomb
Notes: Only saw him play occasionally. Seemed like a strong upper tier III PC archer. Strong long and medium range games.
